The Breaking Point..

Sometimes, even if you have a topic on which you want to talk/discuss or in my case you want to write and express your feelings, but the mind is so clogged with so many questions, so many scenarios and queries, that you cannot see past that fog, you cannot find the right words which gives meaning to what you are feeling.

It all started when I saw a video of a junky asking for help/money, to fulfill his need of drugs. I started thinking that obviously this guy was not a born drug addict, no one is, this guy must have a past, must have a story associated with him, he must had parents, childhood friends, school memories, sweet or bitter, but surely drugs would not have been the only thing he has done in his whole life, he looked like he is in his forties, so I guess, he would have done something useful,at-least once, something good for his life, for his parents or friends, may be just for himself before this addiction got the better of him.

Then I started thinking that what causes a person to leave everything behind, family, friends, relatives, career, love, everything that one could think of, and indulge himself/herself in that addiction where there is no ending, only a deep dark tunnel which ends with that person`s life. Is there a pain so forceful, is there a difficulty so overwhelming, that can turn a man into just a walking corpse, thinking about his own need only, even animals are better then that, I keep thinking to find the answer of what could be the cause where a human becomes almost inhuman.

The only answer that came into my mind was that its that point, when a man cannot take it anymore, the point that tear everything inside you apart and leaves you completely empty, leaving no hope, no wish, no desire behind. The point that tear a person into so many pieces that even the loved ones/ the closed ones cannot gather those pieces and make the person complete. All my life I have heard that hardships are for sometime only and there is always a bright sunny morning after a dull, dark night. All I wanna do right now is to pray to God Almighty " please don`t make me that weak, that I ever come to that point where everything just seems useless, give me the strength to bear all the hardships that you have send towards me, I am your creation, don`t let me go where I don`t belong, don`t let me vanish into the darkness, and give me the strength to fulfill all my duties and responsibilities which I have towards YOU and towards the people related to me. Ya- Allah, don`t leave me alone, as without YOU, I am nothing.

The Encounter

Here comes the encounter again. The passion, the excitement , the adrenaline rush, the hype, the discussions. Pakistan-India encounters (i.e. in the cricket ground) are a separate season on their own, the season of green and blue colors, season of aggression, season of excitement of such measure that people of every age group are getting it difficult to control their heart beats.
I have been reading the discussions across different platforms, the comments of the people, all the discussion on wrong selection, how one player should be selected over another, how the team combination is not perfect, how our players have been doing consistently bad in their recent performances, how they are not gelling up as a team, what should be done and what should not be done, how to squeeze out our required performances out from them.
I just wanted to take a minute out and thank our players for what they have been to us for so many years. They have given us hope, a hope that after every good performance, we will do consistently good, they have given us determination that after every bad performance, we will bounce back, they taught us that there is a light in even the darkest times, they showed us that to achieve something, you got to believe in your own self first. We are a nation deprived of our basic necessities, we don't have food in our houses, we don't have gas in our stoves, we don't have petrol in our cars. Our fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers are getting killed every day in different circumstances, but because of our team, our team in green, we can forget all this for a while and have some hope, some passion, some determination for a win, that will bring the smile on our faces, the smile that have been forced out of our faces.

So, I thank you on the behalf of our nation, I thank you on the behalf of those kids whose friends have been killed in Peshawar, I thank you on the behalf of kids whose fathers have been burned alive in factory fires, I thank you on the behalf of those sisters whose brothers are getting killed in firings, bombings in different parts of the country, that even for a moment you made us forget our grievances, you made us smile through your performances, you gave us hope that there are some good times ahead. So "either you win or you lose, we LOVE you".

Happy Mother`s Day

So much has been written, so much has been said and still it’s too less for someone who gives us life after God, someone who help us grow and literally make us who we are. I guess that’s the first time in my life where I have a topic and I can’t think of what to write. Emotions engulfing me from every corner of my mind and heart, making me remember each and every moment my mom has stood up for me when there was no one to believe me, every moment when she told me “I love u beta” when I was wrong and ashamed of my mistakes, every moment when she has a smile on her face and tears in her eyes when I tried to make her smile and every time when I called her and told her to take care and she replied “ u take care of yourself beta and think that you are taking care of me”.
I wonder what in the world can I do to return back even one percent of love, care and warmth what my mom has given me and every time I get an answer from my mind and heart that you cannot possibly do that.  I also wonder that why we celebrate this Mother`s day, do we have only one day in the whole year to dedicate to our mothers who have given their lives for us, who took care of us day and night, ignoring their pain, their hunger, their rest and now we are so busy in our personal lives that we have only one day to tell her that we care for her. We can remind our friends, our life partners every day about how much we care for them with small gestures than why can’t we do the same with our mothers.
I will take this opportunity today to let my mom know that I love her more than anything else in this world. Everything good in me is only because of you. The little I have achieved so far in my life is because of your prayers and I was able to thrive for them because you believed in me.  I wish my words can express what I feel for you but they can’t; it’s just that my world is incomplete without you.
Friends, please take some time out and tell your mom that you love her and how important she is in your lives and believe me her smile and her prayers will make your life hell lot easier for you. God bless.

God: “That’s not fair at all” (A Tribute to Arfa Karim)

I know being a Muslim I shouldn’t be saying that, I know that I have no knowledge, no wisdom to judge life, death and fate, I don’t know anything but sometimes life seems so unfair that it leave nothing with us, it takes away all the hope, happiness and dreams.
I am deeply sad, another one of the brightest stars on our country have lost its shine and now the darkness prevails, death is the biggest truth of human life and yes, truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.  Arfa Karim, the pride of Pakistan, little girl who achieved a Microsoft certification to be the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in the world, and the youngest to get pride of performance award of Pakistan is no more with us, she died of her illness today irrespective of the prayers of hundreds and millions of people living around whom she had make proud, her fellow countrymen and everyone in the world who knew about her achievement, she became Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of 9. We are already short of heroes and now we don’t have this little princess with us anymore. God, “that’s not fair”.
She made her parents proud, she made her country proud only at the age of nine, at the age where little girls can’t think ahead of dolls, sweets and their friends, she achieved something extra ordinary at that age, her parents would have thought so much about her, there would be so many dreams in her little eyes, dreams for herself and her family, dreams to do something good for her country but that’s not the plan of the Almighty God. HE should have a pretty good reason for that.
I hope our government who generally show no concerns after one`s death, can start some trust at her name where kids can get education and can follow the footsteps of this little princess or work on the dream project of Arfa that is Digicon Valley, i.e. something like the silicon valley of India.
Arfa Karim, I have never met you, but you were an inspiration for people like me all around the world. You will remain in our hearts and in our prayers forever. You were truly a prodigy.

Is it us or is it the law

It’s been a week outside Pakistan now, Dubai is a gem of a place , it got almost everything here, places, people, opportunities to learn, grow and prosper, a systematic way of life, no fear of losing your wallet, mobile or laptop , in fact no fear of losing your life. Anyways every city has its positive and negative points and obviously we understand the negative points as the time passes by.
One thing I noticed or it would be considered as a change in me that I learned to respect the law. It is obviously by fear that I don’t know what will happen or how much fine would I be paying if I break a certain law but the thing is I am respecting the law and this thing is eventually becoming a habit rather than something I do by fear.
I was thinking why these small things can’t be implemented in our country, that we shouldn’t break the signal, we need to cross the road when there is a green walking sign and we should walk only at zebra crossing, we have to park our vehicles only at the parking places, we have to wait in the queue for our turn to buy some ticket. The reason I found out that there is no fear of law, no respect of law in our country, so we don’t do it by ourselves, we know we can do anything with the power of money in our pockets and no one will take us down.
I wish I government can infuse that fear and respect of law in the mind and heart of every citizen and then respecting law will automatically become the habit otherwise we will always see our mother nation as an undeveloped country. (God forbids)

Can we be human’s atleast.

We, as a nation are passing through one of the worst phases of our lives, a great area of land has been destroyed by flood, people are forced to live on roads and open grounds without any sort of roofs, they have nothing to eat, they don’t what to do and where to go, the largest populated province of our country is trying to fight its way through dengue fever, there are no places in hospitals now ,people are dying everyday, but this is what we all know, I would just like to share how nations react to these catastrophes, how they emerge out thorough these mishaps and bad times.
We all know Japan was stuck by tsunami sometimes back. But how they faced it as a nation, their electricity system, traffic system economy, food markets everything has come to a halt, but people saw that at 12 midnight when all shops were closed and traffic was badly jammed, an old lady hadn’t closed her bakery and she was distributing rusks and biscuits to the people stuck in traffic jam free of cost. In residential areas people were holding play cards which says that if you are stuck in traffic jam, you can use our washrooms if you need it. In supermarkets people were only buying things which they really need so that everyone can have what they want
Someone told me that in a train a kid thanked the ticket collector that you are running your train services in these very difficult times. Everyone was trying to help someone and wanted to play his part. Companies lowered the rates of their products; food companies gave away millions of packets of their food products like noodles, biscuits and chips for free.
This is the behavior that describes a nation, this is what describe their spirit that they will face every difficulty holding their hands while taking care of each other  and in contrast what we are doing , I guess I don’t have to tell that. So, in the end I repeat the same question, can we be human’s atleast.

We are getting short of Heroes

JK Rowlings , the name which no one knew 10 years back, now world knows her as the creator of Harry Potter fantasy series which has brought her name at the top on the list of world`s richest women. That happens with most of the writers, players, artists, actors of western society, they get money, love, appreciation almost everything for their hard work, for what they are doing for their society and for their respective country.
Now, if we have a look at our beloved country Pakistan, couple of months back, one of the greatest artist of the history of Pakistan died and what we and our government have done for him until now, His name was Moin Akhter, A producer, actor, comedian, singer, stage artist, an anchor, he had done almost everything to make us laugh, to make us cry, to make us believe in love, laughter, happiness and all good things in the world and now no one takes his name. This is not the only case, actors and comedians like Lehri, Junaid khan, and so many others who are either living their lives in the lost corners of this country or dead waiting for some appreciation, some reward for what they had done all their lives, We also have forgotten our superstars of sports industry, who takes up the name of Shoaib Akhter now, who was the fastest bowler of the world even with his flat footed deficiency.  We have forgotten the likes and mastery of Zaheer abbas, Jansher khan, Samiullah and so many more.
This effect the new generation the most, we don’t have anyone to look up to, we don’t have anyone who we can idealize about, we are afraid to do anything for our people, for our society, thinking of what we do will go in vain. We don’t remember people who have given so much to us all their lives and the nation which forget their heroes don’t make new ones either.
